Groups and Collectives:

Utrophia Project: The Utrophia Project is a network of artists, filmmakers, poets and musicians. They organise great nights in the South London area, well worth checking out!

Mobile Clubbing: Dance in the streets not in your room!

Albino Radio Remix Project: A group of bands and musicians, (including The Shadow Orchestra,) who take the same set of themed samples and then create a piece of music from them. This is then broadcast on Resonance 104.4 FM.

Sonic Arts Network: A group of electro-acoustic composers and sound designers who organise events across the country as well as putting out a monthly newsletter.

Nasciente Quartet: Perfectly formed angular post rock.

Rigsby Smith: Ace contemporary instrumental music.

BIB: Hands in the air kitchen-sink pop.

Club nights and venues:

8i8: London based club night dedicated to new and emerging electronica

Sprawl: Again, London based night dedicated to new electronic music.

The Spitz: Fantastic venue near the City of London, always has a great range of leftfield musical events and club nights, as well as a nice bar.

The Fleapit: Great little venue in East London, with yummy food, film screenings and occasional leftfield music events.

Radio:

Last FM: Peer to peer based net radio. Lists what you've been listening to on your Ipod, and allows you to share with other like minded users.

Mixing It: Amazing show, broadcast on Radio 3 from 10.15 till 11.30pm every Friday, championing new and emerging music. The website features track listing and a stream of last weeks show, if, like most people, you're out and about of a Friday evening.

Late Junction: Eclectic world and new music show broadcast Monday to Thursday 10.15pm till 12am. Again the website features track listings, as well an audio stream of previous shows. http://www.resonancefm.com

Resonance 104.4: Leftfield radio station run by the London Musicians Collective. Features a diverse range of shows including live music on 'You Are Hear' (from 8pm Monday Nights), new and eclectic music from the staff at The Wire on 'Adventures in Modern Music' (from 8pm Thursday Nights) and a daily clear spot at 7pm. All shows are available to listen as an audio stream from the Resonance website.

Rough Trade: Famous West London record shop specialising in all kinds of obscure and cult music. Now has online shop.

Boomkat: Manchester based internet record shop specialising in electronicand experimental music

CD Baby: American independant distributor and online shop

The Wire: The website of the magazine of the same name. Has great selection of links to music related resources on the web, as well as some great free mp3s.

Bash the Trash: A site dedicated to transforming rubbish into musical instruments, great!

Audiomulch: Amazing shareware synthesis and audio processing software.

UBU web: An ever growing archive of contemporary music, poetry and writing, (including the complete recorded works of 'People Like Us.'
